Chandala - Mandala Pendant Light

Peacock Chandala

The Chandala is a hanging pendant light that projects mandala patterns across ceilings and walls when illuminated. Louise created the name for these pieces because nothing else quite described what they do - they're chandeliers that cast mandalas of light.

How They're Made

Each Chandala is constructed from handmade glass droplets, individually fused in the kiln and then assembled onto a handmade copper frame. The Peacock Chandala - the original design in blues, purples, and greens - uses 52 individual glass pendants arranged in three graduating hoops that create radiating patterns of colour.

When the light is switched on, each glass droplet refracts and projects colour outward, creating an intricate mandala of overlapping hues that spreads across your ceiling and down your walls. The effect is mesmerizing and meditative - constantly shifting as you move beneath it.

Where They Work Best

These are ambient pieces that create atmosphere. Perfect for meditation spaces, reading nooks, chill-out lounges, yoga rooms, or anywhere you want soothing, contemplative light. The projected mandala brings sacred geometry into your space without being overpowering.

The first Chandala, called "The Peacock," combined blues, purples, and greens. Each new commission can be created in any color palette to suit your space and intention.
